Operating Principle
The wildlife warning devices are fully powered by integrated solar cells. As soon as sufficient energy has been stored in the capacitor, the units automatically become operational. No manual activation or programming is required.
Approaching vehicles are reliably detected through a combination of light detection and an integrated microphone. When a vehicle is detected, the system emits an acoustic warning signal in the form of a variable whistle tone. The changing frequencies help prevent wildlife from becoming accustomed to the signal, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
At the same time, the devices transmit a data signal to neighboring wildlife warning units within a radius of approximately 100 meters. These units are then activated as well and emit warning signals. This networked operation significantly increases the warning time available to wildlife and enhances protection along the entire section of track or roadway.
In addition to the acoustic warning, powerful LED flash signals attract the animals’ attention and further strengthen the deterrent effect. Thanks to the wireless networking technology, the devices can also be installed in difficult-to-monitor locations such as embankments, cuttings, terrain edges, or dense vegetation, allowing wildlife to be alerted as early as possible to approaching vehicles or trains.
